extra life + lurie chindren’s hospital Fundraiser - Raising funds for children in need.
Event Starts At 2pm, Sunday, 10/18/2026
Please join us on Sunday, 10/18 to play chess and raise funds for the Lurie Children's Hospital! Your participation in this event will help us bring funding and awareness to children in need of medical care.
EVENT ACTIVITIES: (Unrated) Quads with 3 rounds of 10 minute + 5 second increment games, silent auction, raffle, and King Of The Hill!
Unrated Quads:
Quads start at 2:30pm; expected to end at 4pm.
Open; Three games of G/10;+5 (10 minutes + 5 second increment).
Groups of four are paired together to minimize rating gaps, hence three games each.
Silent Auction:
Participants will place private bids on items by writing them on paper sheets. The highest bid wins when the time expires. Potential items up for action: Chess-related art from local Chicago artists, collectable chess boards, collectable chess books, and more! If you would like to donate to to the action prize pool, please email us at info@chichess.org.
Raffle:
The $20 event entry fee covers one raffle! Raffle items include: CCC merch, T-shirts, portable chess sets, mugs, hats, chess bags
Food and Refreshments:
Soft drinks and food will be provided. We will do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions.
Prizes:
Quads: Custom "Extra Life Fundraiser" trophy for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. KOH: Custom "Extra Life Fundraiser" trophy for 1st place. all children who score higher than 50% will receive a medal.
Location:
166 W Washington St, Chicago, IL 60602, Unit # 600. BUILDING ENTRY INSTRUCTIONS: Use the Butterfly MX to enter our unit number 600, then enter 1160 for the access code, head to the 6th floor, and the center is on your right.

$20 entry; Online or onsite before 1:45pm 10/18 1:45PM.
Registration closes after 6:15 PM. Byes not allowed.
