US Chess-rated, membership required.
9-round double Swiss (18 blitz games! Play two consecutive games against each of nine players) Game in 3 minutes, 2-second increment (two seconds is added to time after each move). This is a combined individual/team event: pairings will be made to avoid team members playing each other whenever possible. Players may form teams of two to four players; top three individual scores count for the team score. If you don’t have a team, we’ll help you find one!
Entry fee: $25 on site; 20% discount for Chicago Chess Center members.
On-site registration 12:00 to 12:30 p.m. Round 1 begins at 1:00 p.m. Rounds: Play begins at 1 p.m., each round will begin as soon as possible afterwards. We expect to finish around 6:30 p.m.
Latecomers receive a 1 point (out of two possible points) bye for the first round and will be paired for round 2. Byes available in up to two rounds (1-point bye for each double round). Byes must be requested in advance of round 4.
If you have not been a US Chess member in any month of 2017, and you preregister for the event and renew your membership through us onsite, we will refund your entry fee! You must preregister to take advantage of this offer.

PARKING
All-day parking is available for $7 in the UIC Halsted/Taylor Parking Structure at 760 W. Taylor St. with purchase of parking sticker (normal all-day rate is $8.50). We encourage carpooling.
