2026 Biannual Weekend Championship

USCF-Rated Classical Chess at the Chicago Chess Center. Commencing 2025 Chicago Chess Center tournament year, champion receives custom trophy and name added to Chicago Chess Center Champion wall plaque!

Equipment:

Chess sets and clocks are provided by the CCC.

Sections:

Open: 1600+, 1400+ can play up for $20.

U1600: 1599-0.

We recommend players rated under 1000 to play in the Beginners Open tournament, held on the same day.

Format:

Four rounds; G/90, inc/30.

Schedule:

06/27-06/28

Rounds 1 & 2 at 9:30 AM and 2:30 PM Saturday 06/27.

Rounds 3 & 4 at 9:30 AM and 2:30 PM Sunday 06/28.

Prizes:

Prizes: Overall champion receives trophy, free entry to future CCC tournament, and name added to CCC Champion Plaque!

Open: Trophy and free entry in a future event for first place; trophy for 2nd place; medal for 3rd place.

U1600: Trophy and free entry in a future event for first place; trophy for 2nd place; medal for 3rd place.

All children who score higher than 50% will receive a medal!

Registration:

$40 online by 1 week before; $50 by one day before; $55 after that.

Registration closes 15 minutes before the first round. Any players not registered before then will receive a round 1 bye.

FIDE-titled players automatically receive free entry.
