Chess sets and clocks are provided by the CCC.

Location:

Sections:

Open: 1800+, 1600+ can play up for $20.

U1800: 1799-1200, 1000+ can play up for $20.

We recommend players rated under 1200 to play in the Beginners Open tournament, held on the same day.

Format:

Open: Three rounds; G/60, inc/30.

U1800: Four rounds; G/45, inc/15.

Official Rating & Section Eligibility Policy

Schedule:

Open: Round 1 at 9:30 AM, Round 2 at 1:00 PM*, Round 3 at 4:30 PM*

*(or 30 minutes after the last game ends, whichever is later.)

U1800: Round 1 at 9:30 AM, Round 2 at 12:30 PM, Rounds 3-4 ASAP.

Prizes:

Open: Trophy and free entry to a future event for 1st, trophy for 2nd, and trophy for U1800

U1600: Trophy and free entry to a future event for 1st, trophy for 2nd, and trophy for U1200

All children who score higher than 50% will receive a medal! 

Registration:

The first five players rated 1800+ get free entry! Use code FREE0314 at checkout to redeem by Mar. 8th.

$40 online by March. 8th; $50 by Mar. 13th; $55 after that. FIDE-titled players automatically receive free entry.

Registration closes at 9:15 AM. Any players not registered before then will receive a round 1 bye.

Conveniently located within 10 minutes of multiple L stations (Washington and Wells, Clark and Lake, Washington, and Lake), Ogilvie, Union Station, and the Kennedy.
